Whether you're looking for a recipe for vegan tofu nuggets or a great tofu marinade, this collection of easy air fryer tofu recipes will help you to find a delicious recipe for the next time you're craving something crispy and savory (and high in protein!).

The Best Way to Cook Tofu
The easiest way to make the best tofu is by air frying it (especially if it's your first time making tofu). You can get it super crispy without too much added oil, you don't have to deal with it sticking to the bottom of a pan, and you can be relatively hands-off!
Air frying is definitely my favorite cooking method for tofu. So I compiled this list of air fryer recipes so you can have some fool-proof crispy tofu recipes in your back pocket and maybe (just maybe!) become a tofu lover like me.

Vegan Buffalo Wings
These buffalo wings are everything you'd want - easy, crispy, high protein, spicy, and delicious. They're made with super firm tofu, spices, Panko, and buffalo sauce. Serve with ranch to cool down the kick. I also love to pair this with homemade mac and cheese.

Crispy Air Fryer Tofu Nuggets
You can't go wrong with these tofu nuggets -- they're marinated in a broth and coated with bread crumbs and spices like onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. My favorite way to eat them is the classic way (aka with ketchup) but they'll go well with any sauce you choose.

Air Fryer Tofu Katsu
This dish is made by pre-freezing extra-firm tofu (to give it a meatier texture) and then coating it in corn starch and bread crumbs. She recommends eating it over rice with a homemade Tonkatsu sauce (recipe included on blog post).

Easy Panko Tofu
This easy panko tofu is similar to the tofu nuggets except that it uses chickpea flour and nutritional yeast as part of the breading, giving it an extra boost of protein.

Easy Tofu Stir Fry
This stir fry is made with an air-fried block of tofu, edamame, black rice noodles, vegetables, maple syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and spices. Thanks to the tofu and edamame, each serving has 30g of protein.

Air Fried Tofu with Lemon Sauce
You can either use extra firm tofu or super firm tofu for this recipe. (You won't have to use a tofu press or paper towels to remove the excess water if you use super firm.) Simply coat the tofu in tamari and corn starch, then place it in a single layer in the air fryer basket. After air frying, the tofu is coated in a homemade lemon sauce.

Sticky Air Fryer Orange Tofu
This recipe is made in a similar way, except it's instead coated with a sweet and spicy sauce made from oranges, red pepper flakes, garlic, ginger, maple syrup, and cornstarch.

Sweet and Sour Tofu
I love that this recipe has a healthier homemade sweet and sour sauce with simple ingredients like pineapple juice, maple syrup or date syrup, rice vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, and arrowroot powder. It's made by air frying marinated tofu cubes, adding extra sauce on top, and serving with rice, veggies, pineapple, and sesame seeds.

Sticky Miso Tofu
This dish is made with a brick of tofu, miso, garlic, ginger, potato starch, rice vinegar, maple syrup, green onion, sweet chili sauce, and sesame seeds for a super flavorful air fryer tofu. Serve over rice with some veggies like broccoli.

Crispy Air Fryer Tofu
This crispy air fryer tofu recipe makes a flavorful tofu with spices like onion granules, garlic powder, garam masala, paprika, salt, and black pepper. You can choose to toss it in a neutral oil, olive oil, or sesame oil before cooking. The oil will help the tofu pieces get nice and crispy, but for even crispier results, you can increase the cooking time by a couple minutes.

Crispy Air Fryer Tofu with Cornmeal
This crispy tofu is breaded using cornmeal and uses Mexican spices and sriracha for so much flavor. You can make these by simply removing excess moisture with paper towels or a tofu press, coating the tofu, and air frying in an even layer. Don't worry if you have a smaller air fryer for this recipe (or any of these recipes for that matter) because you can simply cook in batches.

Crispy Air Fryer Salt and Pepper Tofu
To make this simple recipe, press tofu to remove excess liquid, marinate in a large bowl, add seasonings (like salt, sichuan peppercorn powder, and black pepper), add corn starch, air fry, and garnish with scallions, garlic, and red thai chili! A great way to make it into a full meal would be to serve it in a rice bowl or other grain bowl of your choice.

Teriyaki Tofu
This air fryer teriyaki tofu can come together in just 20 minutes with simple Asian ingredients like soy sauce, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and maple syrup. The best type of tofu to use for this recipe is the super firm tofu to avoid having to remove excess liquid, and if you would rather make a baked tofu version instead, she links to her oven-baked recipe as well.

Tofu Satay with Peanut Sauce
It took me so long to finally try peanut sauce because I was convinced peanut butter only went well with sweet foods like jelly or chocolate. But now I'm converted and I absolutely love savory recipes with peanut sauce. These tofu satay sticks are full of flavor while providing plenty of protein and some veggies too!

Nutritional Yeast Tofu
If you've never tried nutritional yeast, it's has a delicious savory and somewhat cheesy taste. It's also typically full of vitamin B12 and extra protein! This nutritional yeast tofu is easy to make and is so versatile to top onto any dish for added protein and crunch.
